The NZXT Avatar (US$60) is a gaming mouse from a PC case maker company that features the following:
- ergonomic design: non-slip grip rubber-like substance coating
- 3 dpi button indicators
- 7 total programmable buttons (including 2 dpi switching buttons)
- four dpi modes (600, 1200, 1800, and 2600)
- 3 Teflon pads
- 2600 dpi sensor
- Avatar software
"Other gaming characteristics like dpi switching, fast optical sensor, and slick Teflon feet are done quite well. The mouse glided smoothly and effortlessly, and the precise optical sensor ensured that our cursor wasn’t jittery or jerky. … $60 for a wired, optical mouse seems a bit high these days when much better mice can be had for less. The Avatar can be worth the money with a category of gamers, but it still has some room for improvement. " [ExtremeTech | NZXT Avatar Gaming Mouse]
ExtremeTech liked the sexy and thin form-factor, blue lighting, included software, accurate sensor, nice movement, and dpi switching. If you don’t mind the price, content with the ergonomics, the Avatar can be your next mouse. And yes, check the placement of the side buttons first (confirm if it’s easy/not easy to accidentally press), before buying.
